Single row metric tapered roller bearings are a common type of tapered roller bearings that are separable. Both the inner and outer rings of the bearing have tapered raceways, and the rollers are in the shape of a truncated cone. The roller and the raceway are in linear contact, which can bear heavier combined radial and axial loads, as well as axial loads.
