Double Sprocket for Two Single Chains

Double sprockets for driving two independent single-strand roller chains from one shaft. Used where two parallel conveyors or mechanisms need synchronised drive from a common motor. Available in ANSI and ISO metric standards. Carbon steel with hardened teeth.

Description

Double Sprockets for Two Single Chains — Synchronised Dual-Chain Drives

Double sprockets consist of two single-strand sprockets integrated on a common hub, allowing two independent roller chains to be driven from a single shaft. Unlike duplex sprockets (which drive one duplex chain), double sprockets drive two separate simplex chains — each chain can have a different tooth count, pitch, or direction. Used where two conveyors, two mechanisms, or a conveyor-plus-timing drive need synchronised operation from one motor. Available in ISO metric and ANSI standards.

Specifications

Parameter Value
Configuration Two simplex sprockets on common hub
ISO Sizes 06B through 24B
ANSI Sizes #40 through #120
Tooth Counts Same or different on each side
Material 1045 Steel, hardened teeth

Features

🔗 Two independent chains from one shaft — eliminates need for a second gearbox or motor

🔄 Different tooth counts possible — different speed ratios on each chain from same shaft speed

⚙ Mixed pitches possible — e.g., #40 on one side and #60 on the other (custom manufactured)

🔥 Hardened teeth, CNC precision, 0.025mm TIR bore concentricity

🏭 Single bore and keyway — both sprockets are precisely aligned and concentric

✅ ISO 9001:2015, EN 10204 Type 3.1 material certs

Applications

Parallel conveyor drives from a common motor, dual-side conveyor belt tracking, combined power-and-timing chain systems, agricultural equipment with multiple chain-driven attachments, packaging machines with synchronised indexing and transport chains.

Reviews

“Double sprocket on our dual conveyor drive. Both chains perfectly synchronised from one motor. Simplified our design.” ★★★★★ — Design Eng., Adelaide, Australia

“Different tooth counts on each side gave us the two different speeds we needed from one shaft.” ★★★★★ — Machine Builder, Taipei, Taiwan

“Good quality double sprocket. Both chain engagements run true. No vibration.” ★★★★☆ — Packaging Eng., Brisbane, Australia

“Custom double with #40 and #60 on same hub. Manufactured to spec. Excellent work.” ★★★★★ — OEM Designer, Seoul, South Korea

“Replaced two separate sprockets with one double. Saves space and improves alignment.” ★★★★★ — Maint Eng., Perth, Australia

FAQ

Double sprocket vs duplex sprocket?
A duplex sprocket drives one duplex (two-strand) chain. A double sprocket drives two separate simplex chains, which can go to different driven equipment.
Can each side have different teeth?
Yes. Each side can have a different tooth count for different speed ratios. Mixed pitches are also available on custom order.
Stock or custom?
Common same-pitch, same-tooth combinations are stocked. Mixed-pitch or unusual tooth count combinations are manufactured to order.
Max bore?
Depends on the smaller sprocket diameter. Contact us with both tooth counts for bore capacity.
MOQ?
One piece for standard combinations. Custom: 1 piece MOQ.
