Sprockets for Bottling and Filling Lines

Bottling and filling line sprockets drive the conveyor chains that transport bottles, cans, cartons, and containers through rinser, filler, capper, labeller, and packer stations. These sprockets must operate in wet, caustic-washdown environments while maintaining hygienic surface standards. We supply filling line sprockets in ANSI #35–#60 and ISO 06B–12B in SS304/SS316 stainless with electro-polished finish, plus C2060 double pitch for long-span accumulation conveyors.

Advantages / Working Principle

✅ SS304 with electro-polish prevents biofilm formation — passes TGA and FSANZ audits.

✅ Nylon for lubricant-free operation — zero contamination risk in direct food contact zones.

✅ Double pitch C2060 for long accumulation conveyors — 40% lower chain cost vs standard #60.

Where: Bottle infeed, rinser drive, filler turret chain, capper conveyor, labeller, packer, accumulation table. Function: Transport containers through filling process at synchronised speed with hygienic chain drive.

Compatibility / Selection

OEM: Krones*, Sidel*, KHS*, Tetra Pak*, GEA* filling systems. *Compatibility reference only.

Select: ❶ Chain pitch ❷ SS304 for standard CIP; SS316 for chlorinated; Nylon for dry zones ❸ Electro-polish if audit required ❹ TL hub for changeover-intensive lines.

Install / Troubleshoot

Install: LOTO → release tension → swap sprocket (TL = 10 min) → align → tension → test → verify CIP spray coverage on new sprocket.

Issues: Pitting = wrong SS grade for CIP chemical (upgrade to SS316). Biofilm = surface too rough (electro-polish). Noise = dry chain (use food-grade lubricant or switch to nylon).

Case Studies

Melbourne, VIC — Dairy Bottling: “SS304 electro-polished #40 on our milk filler conveyor. Passed FSANZ audit. 18 months daily CIP, zero pitting.” ★★★★★

Sydney, NSW — Craft Brewery: “C2060 SS on our can accumulation table. Cost savings vs standard #60. Handles caustic washdown.” ★★★★★

Brisbane, QLD — Juice Plant: “SS316 for our chlorinated CIP. Previous SS304 pitted within 6 months. SS316 running 14 months, perfect.” ★★★★★

Adelaide, SA — Wine Bottling: “Nylon sprockets on our labeller. No lubricant contamination risk. Quiet operation.” ★★★★☆

Perth, WA — Water Bottling: “TL bushed SS304 across 4 filling lines. Changeover in 12 minutes per line.” ★★★★★
