Taper-Lock Bushed Sprockets — Rapid Installation, Zero Shaft Damage

Taper-lock bushed sprockets use a tapered interference fit between the bushing and the sprocket hub to grip the shaft without set screws or keyway damage. This provides rapid installation (typically under 15 minutes), easy removal for maintenance, and precise concentricity. Available across ANSI #40-#240 and ISO 06B-32B in simplex, duplex, and triplex. The sprocket hub and taper-lock bushing are separate components — replacement bushings allow the same sprocket hub to be fitted to different shaft diameters.

Key Advantages

Rapid Installation

Tighten 2-3 cap screws in star pattern. Sprocket is locked to shaft. No heating, pressing, or specialist tools required.

Easy Removal

Transfer cap screws to jacking holes. Bushing releases cleanly. No shaft damage, no pulling tools needed.

Shaft Flexibility

Same sprocket hub fits multiple shaft sizes by changing the taper-lock bushing. Reduces spare parts inventory.

Precise Concentricity

Taper interference fit self-centres the sprocket on the shaft. No play or backlash. Vibration-free operation.

Applications

TL mining

Mining & Heavy Industry: Conveyor drives with scheduled maintenance shutdowns. Rapid sprocket swap minimises downtime cost.

TL manufacturing

Manufacturing & Packaging: Production line drives where frequent sprocket changes or line reconfiguration occurs.

Reviews

“Taper-lock sprockets cut our conveyor sprocket change time from 2 hours to 20 minutes. Significant OEE improvement.” ★★★★★ — Production Mgr, Dandenong, Australia

“We carry spare bushings instead of complete sprocket assemblies. Reduced spare parts cost by 40%.” ★★★★★ — Maint Eng., Perth, Australia

“Clean removal, no shaft damage. We’ve reused the same shaft through 3 sprocket changes.” ★★★★☆ — Reliability Eng., Mackay, Australia

“Precise concentricity. Our high-speed packaging line runs vibration-free with TL sprockets.” ★★★★★ — Packaging Eng., Melbourne, Australia

“Good range of bushing sizes. TL sprockets used across our multi-site operations.” ★★★★★ — Group Procurement, Jakarta, Indonesia

FAQ

Taper-lock vs QD bushing?
Taper-lock uses a tapered interference fit. QD uses a straight bore with set screws. Taper-lock provides better concentricity and easier removal. QD handles larger bores.
Can I reuse the bushing?
Yes, if undamaged. Inspect taper surfaces for scoring before reinstallation.
Bushing sold separately?
Yes. Replacement bushings available independently for all standard sizes.
Stainless steel TL?
SS304 taper-lock sprockets available for common ANSI and ISO sizes.
MOQ?
One piece. Sprocket and bushing can be ordered separately or as a set.
